by Administrator on Feb.17, 2010, under News
Jupiter, FL – February 17, 2010 – Palm Beach Driving Club (PBDC) has selected Traqmate as their Official Data Acquisition system. PBDC members will utilize powerful, but easy to use Traqmate GPS Data Acquisition systems to gather and analyze driving data and high definition video and when they return home to “Replay Their Day”.
Founded in 2008, PBDC is where the blacktop meets the red carpet. Designed by drivers for drivers, the PBDC accepts nothing but the best in developing their refined and sophisticated driving club. Located at the new Palm Beach International Raceway, a private and exclusive 212-acre playground for performance driving, PBDC members get in the fast lane with “members only” track times. The PBDC also provides private training from professional race drivers offering driving tips to actual on track training.
The Traqmate systems will be sold and supported by professional race driver & driver coach Guy Cosmo, owner of Cosmo-Sport, Inc. and a Gold Level Traqmate Dealer. Guy classifies the Traqmate GPS Data Acquisition systems as an invaluable tool when working with his clients.

Traqmate Announces HD Video at PRI
by Administrator on Dec.09, 2009, under Events, News
Traqmate is looking forward to another successful PRI show in Orlando this year, December 10th through 12th. The Traqmate booth number is lucky 1313.
We have a new HD product offering, that combined with our present data acquisition technology, provides completely synchronized high quality data and video recording for those interested in preserving the ultimate record of their driving experience. The result is simply stunning video. Come by to see our HD video in action.

Here are the Details:
Synchronization is accomplished via a new TraqData LANC device that will plug into any camcorder with a LANC or Ctl-L interface which includes almost all Sony camcorders. We recommend the new HD units that record on solid-state MemoryStick Pro Flash media because they are vibration resistant and can be played back immediately with a card reader. TraqData LANC also provides 4 Analog, 2 Digital, and one RPM inputs.
Camera units tested include Sony HDR-TG1 and Sony HDR-CX100, both of which are full 1080 resolution, quite small, and commercially available for under $600. The Sony line ranges from $350 to over $1000 depending on quality and features and have 12V DC adapters for in-car use and LCD screens for aiming.

In February 2010, Traqmate will be offering TraqCam HD packages including everything required for true HD video playback. To play back in 1080 fullscreen, a reasonably powerful computer will be required. Minimum requirements will be published at release but a typical machine for Full HD would be:
Intel Core 2 Duo P7200 2.10GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, GB DDR3 Memory, 250GB Hard disk
Laptops with these minimum specs are available in the $600 – $900 range. Lower resolution 720P and 1080 in a less-than-fullscreen window require less horsepower.
For rugged applications or where a bullet cam is preferable, Traqmate will continue to sell and support the ChaseCam line of standard definition cameras and recorders with our TraqSync and TraqData II interface modules.

Traqmate Training VIR October 9
by Administrator on Sep.29, 2009, under News
We’ve had such good response to our new seminar series, kicked off in July, we’re going to do it again. This upcoming Traqmate 201 seminar October 9th at VIR with Nasa-Mid Atlantic will allow attendees to become fluent not only in the use and maintenance of the Traqmate system, but begin to and progress making sense of all of the voluminous data collected by this great tool. We’ll help you become familiar and facile with the Windows navigation required to use this system as well.
Traqmate 201 on October 9th will cover not only hardware interface, file collection and storage workflows, firmware and software updates and becoming familiar with ALL the features of TraqView and TraqStudio, but also begin to delve into what all of this data means and HOW to apply it towards improving your driving THE VERY NEXT SESSION! We’ll study braking rates and behaviors, acceleration rates and transitions, breaking up the track to begin segment analysis (an important tool to evaluate technique changes as simple as whether or not to change a gear at a particular point on the circuit) and to determine TBL, comparison lap setup among your OWN laps and with others. Even if you’ve used this device for several years, you can come away from this seminar comfortable and confident that you can not only better utilize this information yourself, but know enough to show others how to use it. It’s for folks who want to do more than to just “scratch the surface” of this powerful tool. We’ll move right into relatively advanced interpolative analysis in this particular course.
Traqmate 202 on October 9th will focus on making intelligent use of and the interpretation of the collected data FROM A DRIVER’S POINT OF VIEW. Utilizing many of the concepts made popular by William Mitchell and Jorge Segers (SAE, Society of Automotive Engineers technical paper and book authors), Traqmate 202 will explore the various ways the data can be sliced and diced to form a useful and accurate picture of the driver’s strengths and weaknesses, comfort and confidence anywhere on the course. This is not a tremendously “technical” or “mathematical” treatise, but instead a critical, intensive look on how to recognize patterns of driver behavior and successfully develop strategies to fix those behaviors that require fixing!
The seminar will be in the VIPER Dyno Lab in the Main Paddock. Water, soft drinks and iced tea will be provided. Please spread the word amongst your friends and online so that we can get the word out as soon as possible. We will have several more scheduled for this Fall! Information available at http://driverdevelopment.motorsportreg.com
Hope to see you all there!
Thanks, Peter
