We haven't tested every Sony camera but others have had success with LANC equipped Sony products.
One concern is the camera you have chosen has a Hard drive rather than being solid state like the ones we recommend. It also seems to accept additional memory sticks.
The moving hard disk in a racecar for instance is generally a bad idea, but there is a possibility that you could insert a memory card and have the video saved directly to that media instead. There is most likely a setting in the menu's or the manual.
